I'm very close to releasing the next XCLIENT Lite! This will be version 1.5. It has a bunch of new tools and features which I'm excited to add to XCLIENT. Here is a list of some changes/additions:

  • [Changed] Less timers running in the background to improve XCLIENT Lite's speed.
  • [Changed] XCLIENT Lite v.1.5 is in Visual Basic 6

I might be missing a couple things but those are the most major changes/additions. Here are some screenshots for those who are curious what the new version looks like:

Profile Select (Something neat about this window is you can change the picture of the character to your own character.)

I plan on releasing this version very soon, I'm just doing some testing and bug fixing. Stay tuned for more updates and info.

Well I have been absent for almost 2 months, I think. I apologize for this but I am pleased to announce I am back and have plans for XCLIENT!

First of all, you may have noticed our new site! I liked the old one but was sick of it. I think it's been here for over 2 years? The new one has a new design and much better code so it should work much better. It is also improved in a few areas which you may or may not notice.

We have 2 new features in the XCLIENT support system. First of all, I installed a new Knowledge Base/Support Ticket system at http://support.xclient.net . If you get an error or need help, you may submit a ticket there and I'll respond shortly.

We also got a new Live Help system. If I'm online, you'll be able to click the Live Help button and chat directly with me for help or for questions. It's a nice system so please don't abuse it, I can ban people from it if need be.

And now for XCLIENT itself. I am currently re-writing XCLIENT but here's the twist, it's back in Visual Basic 6. Visual Basic 2005 caused a lot of issues and the biggest problem was you need the .NET framework and all sorts of other junk. I do like VB 2005 more, but it doesn't work as well for my users. I'm planning on releasing a re-coded XCLIENT soon!

In the mean time I created a new little program called PC World Grabber. This small program will listen in the SwiftSwitch IRC Pest Control channel for the Official Pest Control worlds and then show them to you on your computer. It's a pretty nice little program and I encourage anyone who plays Pest Control to check it out in our Downloads section.

Well I've been gone for a while. This past weekend I had my SAT and then this past week I had final exams at school. It has been an oh so fun week.

I am going to start working on XCLIENT again soon. I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about making XCLIENT in a new language. Right now, I'm leaning towards Java as it's universal and easy for people to use. The problem with stupid Visual Basic is that you have to have all the DLLs and crap to run programs. Most of the problems XCLIENT users have are with these stupid DDL/OCX missing errors.

With that said, I need help from my users! If you know of a good language that you think would be good for XCLIENT, let me know! E-Mail support@xclient.net with a suggestion of a programming language and also please explain some benefits of using the language. These suggestions will play a big part in what language I choose so I'd appreciate if you guys sent me some information.
